In the new interview Romeich of Romeich Entertainment and Shenseea’s producer address what might have been the biggest controversy of the month

Just a few days ago Vybz Kartel dropped the original version of ‘Loodi’, the song that brought young Jamaican artist Shenseea into the scene. On VybzKartelVEVO, the official Worldboss channel, the song was accompanied with a description “My song was never a collaboration!” .

This led to Worldboss’ fans calling out Romeich and his team for stealing Kartel’s song. Addressing the rumor, Romeich said, “Elvis sent the song to a friend and say he would like a female to feature with Kartel.” Elvis is the producer at So Unique Records who produced the song for Kartel.

“And we said fine. Thats Vybz Kartel, who wouldn’t want to do a song with Vybz Kartel.” Romeich went on to detail how the transaction happened, saying that he got Elvis to send him the song.

One of the biggest drama about the song is that Kartel wrote almost all of the lyrics, comparing the original song to the one with Shenseea showed how she just turned Kartel’s lyrics to her own. The owner of Romeich Entertainment addressed this by saying he was requested to keep the chorus and use Kartel’s lyrics “as much as possible.”

Shenseea appeared unmoved by the controversy in the video. She also posted an Instagram story singing ‘the more them fight we the stronger we get.’

In the 17 minutes OnstageTV interview which you can check below, Romeich also confessed that he got a call from Kartel’s team telling him not to release the song, but Elvis told him to ignore them.

The whole dancehall fraternity has been turned upside down after Vybz Kartel revealed he never collaborated with Shenseea, the new Jamaican songstress who became popular after the song ‘Loodi’ went viral.

The song that was dropped last year on Shenseea’s Youtube  has garnered more than 9 million views at time of publishing. This is the song that has been credited by many as the song that started the young songstress career.

However, debate has been brewing all along since the song was initially released as a Kartel feature. With many fans claiming Shenseea was not giving the Worldboss enough credit for the song. She later on addressed the rumors on ONStage claiming the song belong to SoUnique who produced the song.

Now the whole story has changed, Vybz Kartel’s team dropped the original version of the song on their official Youtube (VybzKarteVEVO) channel and wrote this description, “My song was never a collaboration!”

This statement has caused a lot of noise among Gaza fans, calling Shenseea a fraud. Theories circulating suggest that Shenseea’s team bought the song from someone and did a remix of it and dropped a video, all without Kartel’s management consent (sounds crazy, right?).

After hearing the original version (see below) many have called it better than the remix (first release), take a listen and tell us what you think!

Its a really proud day for the incarcerated Jamaican artist Vybz Kartel and his fans.

Sources tell us on Wednesday Vybz Kartel was given the go ahead by Justice Frank Williams to proceed with a full appeal. Kartel’s attorney Thomas Tavares-Finson said that the judge read through all of the court documents and feel confident that there are grounds to appeal the controversial conviction.

Vybz Kartel was convicted of murdering Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams in 2014 but the deejay and his crew, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, have all maintained their innocence.

Many Jamaicans are hopeful that the deejay will finally get a fair judgement and his long deserved freedom. In 2014 when Kartel was sentenced there were reports of police tempering with the evidence and trying to pin the ‘Clarks’ superstar for the murder.

Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer and his lawyers are now seeking a new trial citing many problems with the case that sent him to prison for life. In his appeal docs, Tavares-Finson drew attention to police tampering with evidence and witness intimidation by law enforcement among many other problems with the case.

“It’s the first but critical step in the appeal process,” Tavares-Finson said.

Kartel’s attorney will proceed with a full case in the Jamaican Appeal Court in September of this year. “We will move on to a full appeal in September,” he said.

Gazanation will be going wild for this one. Vybz Kartel and WizKid, aka Starboy, will be dropping a new collaboration soon.

The “One Dance” singer first broke the new on Twitter on Thursday signaling he is a huge fan of the incarcerated dancehall star. “Vybz kartel x Wizkid 2017!! Gazaaaaa forever,” he tweeted.

Sources inside the Kartel’s Gaza camp also confirmed with Dancehall HipHop that the collaboration took place earlier this month after Wizkid’s team reached out to their team. “His producer reached out to us and we felt comfortable doing this track because he (WizKid) is like one of us,” sources said. “Dancehall run the world and right now Vybz Kartel is the biggest dancehall artist.”

The Nigerian-born singer is a huge fan of dancehall music and was featured on arguably the biggest song on the planet last year “One Dace.” The dancehall infused single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 non-consecutive weeks last year. The single also reached a milestone 1 billion streams on Spotify and likely close to that figure on Apple Music.

WizKid has in the past collaborated with another big name in dancehall, Sean Paul. His new single with Vybz Kartel will appear on his upcoming album, due sometime this year.

Earlier this month a new WizKid and Drake collaboration “Hush Up The Silence” was leaked online. This track is another dancehall party track that was first announced by the singer back in October last year on Twitter. “6god x Real Starboy about to school everybody,” he wrote on his timeline. There is no word yet on when the single will be officially released. However, his label is currently doing damage control mapping up the leak from the net.

Vybz Kartel and WizKid collaboration should arrive in the coming weeks, we’re told, but no official release date has been announced.
